Mildot Master, inch and metric with instructions

The Mildot Master is the fastest and most reliable way to determine shooting distances without electronics using the reticle in the riflescope.

If the size of the target is known (military: man size, vehicle height, window height / hunting: back height of the game / sporting: size of the target), the distance can be determined using the Mildot reticle in the riflescope and the slider in the Mildot Master: Distance measurement: simply match the number of "mildots" in the scope reticle covering the target with the mark on the slider for the known size of the target and read off the calculated shooting distance on the scale.

Then set the appropriate elevation correction for the firing distance on the ZF ("clicks") or "hold over" with the appropriate reticle (Mildot, Horus, ...) according to the calculation with the Mildot Master.

No batteries and can be learned by any shooter within minutes.

A very comprehensive manual (40 pages / English) is included with every Mildot Master, as is the changeover slide for the Anglo-American units of measurement (" inch, ' foot, yard). No need to convert units and type formulas in the calculator. Simply measure with the Mildot reticle of the ZF, position the slider of the Mildot Master accordingly and read off the distance to the target.
The Mildot Master is inexpensive compared to a laser rangefinder (comparable to 2 boxes of .308 Win. cartridges), without batteries and vulnerable electronics, space-saving and can be used reliably in all weather and light conditions!
The Mildot Master is part of the standard equipment of many sniper units worldwide (NSN 1220-01-493-9977), because even if many units now have electronics, the Mildot Master is a fail-safe "firing solution" under all circumstances and is always ready for use as a "back-up" if the batteries fail.

Height correction: There is a field on the back to fix the ballistic data of the cartridge used at different distances. (Tip: laminate the table and attach it with double-sided adhesive tape). If the slide is now set to the correct target size in relation to the covering mild dots in the IF reticle, the distance can be read off as already explained above.
If you now have the table with the bullet drop in cm (inches) at the corresponding shooting distance, you can use the right-hand scale on the front of the Mildot Master to read off the adjustment value of the ZFs in MOA or mils.

Tilt angle: As a third feature, a thin string with a weight (e.g. cartridge or pencil) can be attached through the rivet in the top right-hand corner of the back.
If you now leave the weight hanging and aim at the target with your eye over the upper edge of the Mildot Master, the string shows the shooting angle of 15 -60 inclination on a scale on the lower edge.

As every "long range" shooter knows, the bullet drop must be calculated differently for angled shots and compensated for via "clicks" on the target than for flat shots.
When calculating the distance with the slide, the Mildot Master takes into account the shot angle from 15 to 60 inclination in 5 steps. Simply read off the calculated distance before the corresponding number of degrees on the scale and use this value to set the correction on the ZF. The Mildot Master offers a fast and reliable "Field Firing Solution" for little money with the following features: - Calculating the shooting distance (meters/yards) - Calculating the correction on the ZF (MOA/Mils) (if ballistic data is available) - Measuring the shooting angle and calculating the corrected distance - Scale for converting inches to cm and vice versa (not true to scale), up to 10" or 26cm

The Mildot Master itself consists of two solidly riveted flexible plastic plates with two interchangeable sliders. The slider for yards offers target size in inches/foot and distance in yards and on the back the target size in inches/foot and distance in meters. The slider for target size in cm and shooting distance in meters is free on the back for notes or further ballistics data for different cartridges or temperatures.

The scope of delivery also includes a transparent plastic protective cover and a detailed 40-page manual (English) with exercises and application examples.

This simple and versatile tool should be part of every "long range" shooter's equipment, whether for business or pleasure!
